Going into the jungle without mosquito repellent in hand can be a nightmare, or if you travel to a small town in the highlands of Peru and suddenly you get a stomachache, it’ll be something you will never forget.

Before going out to discover some of the destinations Peru offers you, we advise you not to forget to pack a basic first aid kit and put it in your luggage. If your destination is the jungle, don’t forget to get the yellow fever shot (children as young as 1 year old can get it), this must be done at least ten days prior departure in order for it to work during your trip. For insect bites, repellents and antihistaminic are a must, don’t forget to bring lotions to soothe the itching produced by the insect bites.

Remember to drink bottled or previously boiled water and for “soroche” (altitude sickness) you can read information of interest on our previous post. Please don’t forget to ask your travel specialist if you have any questions about it.
