Located on the otherwise unknown side of the Huayna Picchu mountain, the Peruvian Culture Ministry, presented Inkaraqay, a fascinating place located only 20 minute away from Aguas Calientes; on kilometer 117 of the railroad that leads to the Machu Picchu hydroelectric plant. Its walls and terraces skirt its abysmal cliffs that rise steep from the deepest side of the valley next to a precarious bridge that crosses the Vilcanota river on the side of the mountain. It is believed that this place was devoted to agriculture and worship to the moon, halfway through the top of Huayna Picchu. Apparently, Inkaraqay and east side of the Machu Picchu mountain (Eastern Andenes), will be integrated to the tourist circuit of the archeological park, which adds up to a long list of reasons to visit Peru and discover its marvels.
