🏞️ Nestled near the headwaters of the Saposoa River, this city thrived until the arrival of a mysterious figure from far away: the Spanish captain Lope de Aguirre. With his piercing blue eyes, regal attire, and one arm shorter than the other, he struck fear into the hearts of the locals.
😨 Terrified by this strange visitor, the people of Saposoa fled into their richly adorned temple. But Aguirre, driven by greed, entered the sacred space, collecting golden idols and sacred treasures. As he left the church, one idol slipped from his grasp and sank into a small puddle near the entrance.
🌊 What happened next became legend the puddle began to bubble and swirl, expanding rapidly until it transformed into a deep lagoon that swallowed the city whole. The once-glorious Saposoa vanished beneath the waters, lost forever in the mists of time… 🌫️💫
