Manco Capac - trip peru

The story tells that the Sun God took pity on the barbaric state on which the town where living in, and sent his children, borned of the lake foam, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo, in order for them to civilize and teach the mean.

He gave them a stick and told them to stick it on the ground wherever they went and in the place where it sank they should found that capital of their empire.

Obeying the divine mandate, the couple left from one of the islands on Titicaca Lake, “now called the Sun Island” and headed north looking for the place to establish their imperial city. After several days traveling and furiously trying to bury the stick on the ground, they reached the Huanacaure hill and there the stick sank on the first attempt. Then, on that very place, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo founded the capital of the Inca Empire, accomplishing their mission.

Manco Capac taught men the secrets of agriculture such as the harvesting of the land, planting seeds and how to make the necessary tools for those tasks. He also taught them to build their houses, roads and aqueducts. Mama Ocllo, on the other hand, taught women how to knit and  weave, make clothes and do domestic chores like cooking and washing.

And then, according to this legend, the Inca civilization started.
