Huaca Pucllana - Trip Peru

The Huaca Pucllana is a pre Inca construction in pyramidal shape and built in base of adobes (mixture of mud and clay). It was one of the most important ceremonial and administrative centers of the Lima culture, the same that developed between the years 200 and 700 a.c. among the Chancay, Chillon, Rimac and Lurin valleys.

In it several chopped women bodies have been found, since the inhabitants of the Lima culture believed that the best sacrifice that they could make was of a woman, since it was them who gave life.

Nowadays there’s an onsite museum in which several pieces found of the excavations are on display.

This archaeological site is one that stands out the most as it contains the great cultural treasure that Lima represents, it is located in the heart of the Miraflores district, which is located in the middle of a residential urban nucleus. The tour can take about 2 hours.
